Matt Appleby is a Freelance Session Guitarist, Tutor and Composer based in London, UK.

As both an electric and acoustic recording and performing artist, Matt has worked and performed with artists including Skunk Anansie's Skin and Ace, Rome, Otis Mensah and Eleanor Marie among others. Matt has had the pleasure of playing Latitude Music Festival, in Theatres, Milan, BBC Radio, Metropolis Studios among others.

He has adopted a unique acoustic fingerstyle method of playing and demonstrates this throughout various Acoustic guitar workshops including “Always the Sun" Music Festival. This led to the 2016 Instrumental release of “The Valley of Blue” and his electric work can be heard on expected releases as a solo artist and with the progressive world band “Rome”.

As a guitar and music theory tutor, Matt has taught a range of styles and techniques to audiences of all ages and talents from beginner to degree. Currently a Tutor at London's Academy of Contemporary Music, Matt has a background of teaching a vast range of material both privately and within music organisations. As a product demonstrator, Matt has years of experience whilst keeping up to date with the newest releases from the industry’s biggest brands.
